Wanted: Knitters for Guerrilla Knitting

Posted on Thursday, April 5, 2012 - 17:24

Get your knitting needles out and go undercover with Yarra Plenty Regional Library. We'll be knitting some bookish graffiti and surprising passersby in the Banyule and Nillumbik area.

Guerrilla knitting, also known as yarn bombing, yarn storming or urban knitting is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colorful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fibre rather than paint or chalk.

Meet at Diamond Valley Library in Greensborough to plan the knitting attacks! (Meeting times to be arranged)

It's all part of the National Year of Reading and is being held in partnership with Banyule City Council.

Email Tracey at tjermieson@yprl.vic.gov.au to get involved.
