Japanese Cultural Experience: From Wasabi to Origami

Posted on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 - 13:15

Join us for a special family night to celebrate the opening of Watsonia Library's new Japanese garden on Saturday May 26 from 5.00pm to 7.00pm. Enjoy Japanese music including Japanese drumming and shamisen playing, Japanese art and cuisine.

The Japanese garden, which features a Japanese maple, cherry blossom and water bowl water feature, has been established thanks to grant funding and the Japanese families of Watsonia. It has been designed to foster cultural exchange and friendship, support the learning and development needs of children in Japanese families and promote cross-cultural engagement.
