HOW TO APPLY FOR AN ADVERTISED POSITION AT YARRA
PLENTY REGIONAL LIBRARY
If you are interested in applying for an advertised position with
Yarra Plenty Regional Library Service:
- Read the relevant position description and selection criteria,
or call the number provided in the advertisement to obtain a copy.
- Prepare your resume and cover letter.
- Your cover letter should identify the title of advertised position,
address the selection criteria and how you believe your qualifications
and experience enable you to meet the criteria.
- Your resume should be no more than four or five pages and list
personal details and positions held - starting with the most recent.
- Your responsibilities and achievements in each role should be
highlighted.
PLEASE NOTE: The subject line in your cover letter and /
or email must be the title of the position advertised.

to be interviewed by trained members of an interview panel.
During and after interview, for determination as to your suitability
against selection criteria established for the position, in conjunction

To determine your suitability against selection criteria, in conjunction
with the written application information you have provided.
After the selection process
If you are not employed, the information will be retained in locked
cabinets and confidentially destroyed after 12 months.
If you are employed, information provided before and during the
selection process will be combined with personal information required
for employment purposes to form part of your individual record.
For employment purposes, it is retained confidentially and can
be accessed only by:
