Thomastown Library was recently renovated and it's just beautiful. There's an open, vibrant children's area, a Maker Space to explore, updated kitchen facilities and an all new layout. Don't take our word for it, come and check it out yourself!
But wait have you heard about one of the best new features to support parents and carers? It's a Victorian first and we are so excited about them.

- Our desks and attached playpens are free to use (we have 4 of them) – no need to book, just come in!
- They are safe. They keep your child contained, you can see them easily and they are within reach.
- They are fun! Soft mats, different mirror features on the back wall of each and interactive wooden toys on the side, plus room for you to bring your own toys.
- Use our computers or bring your own device and connect to our free Wi-Fi. We have printers available too.
- Our facilities are family-friendly. There’s a change table in the family toilet and a kitchen area. You can use any of the facilities, like a microwave or sink.
- Sometimes you just need to get out of the house. We are climate controlled so you can escape the heat or cold and be comfortable.
- Pair your outing with more. What’s nearby? Maternal Child Health is in the building and you are walking distance to TRAC, so you can visit the pool or café.
- There’s ample parking or you can come on the bus.
- Thomastown Library has Storytimes that you and your bub can attend. They're a great way to meet other families!
- You can borrow some board books to take home.
