Midsumma Festival

Midsumma is a celebration of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer. Intersex, and Asexual/Aromantic (LGBTQIA+) community in Naarm/Melbourne.

Although LGBTQIA+ rights have improved greatly over the years, there’s still a long way to go – especially in terms of intersectionality (the crossover of being LGBTQIA and another marginalized identity).

There are many events happening over the next 22 days, so be sure to check out Midsumma Festival to find information!

Join the visual artist Alun Rhys Jones at Eltham for a Midsumma Drawing lesson. Unleash your creativity through real-life figure drawing.

You can also pop into Ivanhoe Library to explore the free gallery exhibit that is part of the Midsumma Festival: "Manic Pixie Clownboy", a mixed-media installation exploring themes of queerness, archetypes and pop-culture. Open during library hours until the 9th of February!
