Rocket, Roquette (French), or Arugula? It doesn’t matter what you call it, this underrated leafy green with a distinctive peppery crunch is a member of the mustard family and is a superstar on all fronts.
Two cups (40g) of rocket will provide 20% of your vitamin A, over 50% of vitamin K and 8% of vitamin C, folate and calcium needs for the day, plus it is rich in antioxidants — all this in just 10 calories!
Rocket is quick and easy to grow, is extremely healthy and nutritious, and can be used as a beneficial add-on topping for pizza, nachos, and wraps. If you add cherry tomatoes and pine nuts, grated parmesan and balsamic, or even avocado and walnuts, along with a splash of olive oil you can whip up some brilliant and quick salads. Rocket can even be added to risotto or pasta dishes or used as an alternative to basil when making pesto.
