Introducing: Cookbook Book Group
Welcome to a meeting place for book group members who love cooking and reading cookbooks, a place to connect once a month, with other members who are passionate about food!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
1. Yarra Plenty Regional Library provides you with a cookbook. Our first book is Stephanie Alexander’s Home.
2. Leave your details eg. Name, Membership Card Number, Phone Number, Email Address on the list
3. Read the cookbook and select a recipe to make from the cookbook.
4. Email us your recipe (including page number) so it can be entered on the Recipe Register. First in first serve (no pun intended), if there are several people wanting to make the same recipe, we will contact you for a second preference.
5. Visit our next meeting with your cooked recipe/food from the nominated book group cookbook. Don’t forget to return your library cookbook. The library will provide the basics such as plates, cutlery, cups, glasses, refrigerator, stove top, microwave etc.
6. Have fun! Discuss the cookbook (ingredients, celebrity chefs, degrees of difficulty, sustainability and more) while sampling the food.
7. Bring containers to take away samples.
Please leave your egos at the door. Cookbook Book Group is about learning and trying new things – not being the perfect cook! Remember to find the fun and the lessons in your failures – it's all part of the experience.
WHEN DO WE MEET?
Once a month on a Saturday afternoon at 2.30PM. The next meeting is 24th of June!
We meet at Diamond Valley Library, for further information contact the branch at 9434 3801
