Winter is coming!
The library is a wonderful place to spend a cold or rainy day. But if you prefer to cosy up at home instead you can top up your loungeroom library at our Winter Book Sale.
Sometimes we have items we need to withdraw from the collection. They might be damaged and worn, or we bought lots of copies when the item first came out and now have an excess, or it just wasn’t a popular item. Periodically we put these items into a Book Sale and invite you to buy a few!
Whether you are looking for an old favourite that you’d like to read again and again, or want an exciting new read, you’ll find it all at our Sale. Book Sales are also a great way to inexpensively build a home library for your children.
You will find a range of adult and junior fiction, picture books, non-fiction – including cooking, gardening, and design – as well as graphic novels and books from our LOTE collection.
The Big Winter Book Sale will be at our Ivanhoe, Watsonia, and Diamond Valley and Thomastown branches on Saturday 3 June 2023 from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
Bring your EFT card as we don’t take cash and bring a bag or box (or car boot!) to take your goodies home.
YPRL members receive a 50% discount on all sales. Simply show us your library membership card or digital membership card in the YPRL mobile app. Not a member? Sign up online or at one of our branches to take advantage of this offer.
Come along with your family, friends, or just your best self; find a new winter book treasure to warm your heart.
The money we raise from the sales will go into sustainable measures of disposing of our damaged stocks through The Sustainability Project, which supports the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
