Help your backyard pollinators!
One of the important role bees have are to pollinate fruits, vegetables, crops and flowers. In fact, they pollinate one-third of the food we eat. The most active time for bees are in Spring, Summer and Autumn. Observing bees in your backyard through the warmer seasons, pollinating gardens is a natural sight. Try not to be frightened of the bee activity. As this bee activity enables flowers to reproduce by making seeds or fruits. The idea of a Bee Bath is to create a source of fresh water that has places for bees to perch (for example rocks) as they drink and collect water. So, lets help these busy bees out by installing a bee bath in our gardens, so they can stop for light refreshments along the way.
Make a Bee Bath
1. Find a shallow dish.
2. Fill the dish with rocks, broken plant pots or crockery, corks.
3. Put it on a stand or on a log in a shady area in the garden.
4. Fill with fresh water so the tops of the stones are not submerged.
5. Change the water daily and clean the dish weekly.
