September School Holiday Program – We’re Out in the Community! 

Yes, it’s September again – with it comes spring, AFL football finals season and school holidays.

To help answer the question, ‘What can I do to entertain the kids (for free)? we have a variety of options for you. 

Bad Art for Teens, Monday 30 September, 11am—12.30pm at Nillumbik Youth Hub, Diamond Creek 

It's time to make Bad Art, so unleash your unartistic skills! We want you to make Bad Art, so bring your worst, most uninspiring ideas and leave your perfectionism at home! There will be different challenges, lots of judgement and some terrible prizes to be won. Dress to unimpress, as this could get messy. All materials provided. 

Movie Night, Tuesday 1 October, 6.30pm—8pm at Diamond Valley Library

Enjoy a great family-friendly movie on the big screen at Diamond Valley Library! Popcorn will be provided!

Family Movie Night, Wednesday 2 October, 6pm—7.30pm at Watsonia Library

Cannot sing? Do you tend to Mumble? Well Amigos, can you guess this animated movie? This little penguin has a happy sole and will tap into your heart with his Fred Astaire moves.

Did we mention.... the Australian Ballet?! 

We have an exciting opportunity to experience with the Australian Ballet!

Australian Ballet Wonderland Workshop and Performance, Monday 30 September, 11am—1.30pm at Whittlesea Library

Workshops by the Australian Ballet Education and Outreach team give children the unique opportunity to explore the story of Wonderland through a dance workshop. The workshops are designed to be accessible to all children regardless of learning styles or physical abilities. Sessions will involve warmups, storytelling, creative games, dance exercises and learning the tools to make a dance. No previous dance experience is required. 9 – 12 years old.

The Australian Ballet Performance: From the Gadhu, Thursday 3 October, 11.45am—12.45pm, at Lalor Library

Attend a special performance of From The Gadhu by dancers from The Australian Ballet. From the Gadhu is a captivating First Nations-led creation performed by The Australian Ballet. Inspired by the profound cultural symbolism of whale migration, this contemporary duet delves into themes of care for Country, intergenerational knowledge sharing, and the delicate balance of ecosystemic symbiosis.

Australian Ballet Workshop, Thursday 3 October, 12.45pm—1.45pm, at Lalor Library

Explore your creativity through movement! This is a unique opportunity to explore the story of From the Gadhu in a dance workshop with professional dancers. This workshop is for 9-12 year olds.

We also have these drop-in sessions running through the Mobile Library; no registration required!

 

Melty Beads on the Mobile Library Bus:

Come aboard the Mobile Library to create some fun and crafty melty beads! Choose from a range of designs such as Minecraft, Pokémon, unicorns and rainbows, the options are endless. No bookings required, just drop in and craft! 

Erika & Her Kraft 

Join Erika & Her Kraft on the Mobile Library this school holidays! Kids can create simple and rewarding art & craft in a relaxed environment which allows kids to express themselves, make mess and design new things. No bookings required, just drop in and craft!
