Throughout the month of June, Thomastown Library Textiles & Craft Maker Space is hosting an exhibition — Queerways — that celebrates the queer stories and voices of Melbourne's past and present.
Created by Australian Artists, Luciano and Georgia Keats, Queerways was supported by the Australian Queer Archives through its production and creation process.
Queerways features five panels that use QR technology to digitally tell the stories of being queer in Melbourne. Featured narrators for each panel share participants' stories including Cerulean, Miss First Nation 2021, and Sally Goldnar AM.
On the Queerways website, you can locate a digital Queer map of Melbourne where there are more stories that have been archived. You can also share your own story by adding your footprint to the map.
We welcome you to view the exhibition during the Thomastown Library opening hours, Monday to Saturday. Pieces of the exhibition are available for sale online and 20% of sales go directly to the Australian Queer Archives.
