YPRL Staff

29 October, 2020

Good news for family history researchers!  Yarra Plenty Regional Library is now able to provide at home access to Find My Past.  With over 900 million names, FMP has one of the most complete records of civil registration records for the United Kingdom. Some historical newspapers are also available.  There are also records covering Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and the United States. Records for your research in Victoria include electoral rolls (name or address search), birth, death and marriage indexes, Petty Session registers, Victoria Police Gazette, Passenger lists and more.

To access the log in details, email 'ypmail@yprl.vic.gov.au' with a request and  'FMP Log In details' in the subject line.

Go to https://www.findmypast.com.au/

Go to the Log In button on the top right hand side.

Please note you will not be able to start a tree or access a personal tree on the library account.

Ancestry Library Edition also continues to be available for at home access via our website.

We would love to hear about any discoveries you have made with your family history research this year. Leave a comment below or email the Family History Librarian at localhistorygene@yprl.vic.gov.au.
