YPRL is the place to be this festive season!
Children looking for Christmas crafts, movies and Storytimes will be spoilt for choice this December. Adults haven’t been forgotten either, with special Christmas crafts for them to join too.
Come along to our YPRL events and create happy memories!
Christmas can be financially stressful. Vulnerable families are being supported by YPRL in conjunction with local charity Diamond Valley Community Support through the Christmas Gift Appeal. Donations of new toys, gift vouchers and financial contributions are being collected so Banyule and Nillumbik residents can have a happier Christmas.
The cost-of-living crisis will not stop the fun this December school holidays with an abundance of FREE events at YPRL branches. It’s an ideal opportunity for quality time with family and friends so bring along your loved ones to create some happy memories.
Christmas Art for Kids
Join our local Artist in Residence, Annabelle Hale, and get Christmas crafty!
Annabelle will lead children through an art activity to help decorate the Christmas windows at Eltham Library. All supplies will be provided, just bring yourself and wear something comfortable and suitable for making art!

Watercolour Christmas Card Making
Join local artist Gay Chatfield to create your own fabulous Christmas wreath. Gay will show you how to craft using materials from nature--it's free, sustainable and fun! All materials will be provided.
Festive Tie-Dyed T-Shirts
Weather too hot for an ugly Christmas sweater? This ugly tie-dye t-shirt workshop is just the thing for you.
We will provide a mix of adult sized t-shirts, or bring an old shirt or tote bag you'd like to revamp.
Please wear clothes that are ok to get a bit messy.
Festive Songs with the Greenbrook Singers
Tap your toes, sing along or just enjoy the harmonies and fun with our local musical all-stars: the Greenbrook Singers, Those Epping Ukes, and LivingSong choir. We look forward to getting you in a festive mood with some songs of the season.
Led by Margaret Crichton, The Greenbrook Singers (Epping) and LivingSong (Ivanhoe) are weekly community choirs, and Those Epping Ukes are a community ukulele class.
Refreshments will be provided.
Santa Storytime Visit!
Santa is coming to Diamond Valley Library! Join us for songs and stories with a very special guest.
Christmas Family Storytime
It's Christmas Time at Mill Park Library! Join a Christmas themed storytime made for children of all ages and development levels.
We'll have Christmas books and songs, plus a visit from Santa himself. Stay for sensory play and activities after.
Family Christmas Movie
Get into the festive spirit with a family Christmas movie!
Cinema snacks provided, film shown will be PG or under.
Storytime Santa Visit
Can you hear those sleigh bells jingling? Are you dreaming of a White Christmas? Santa Claus is coming to town!
Join us for some festive fun with a Christmas Storytime and a visit from the jolliest man in town.
Christmas Craft for Adults
Create your own last minute Christmas gifts and decorations in this budget friendly craft session. We will have a selection of items for you to make and take home. Share your tips and hints with others, and who knows? You might even get an idea that starts a new family tradition.
This is an adults only session.
