“Walking gets the feet moving, the blood moving, the mind moving.”

- Terri Guillemets

Walking promotes healthier, connected communities. YPRL has joined Walking Maps with the launch of the Whittlesea Township Local History Walk

Learn more about some of the historical sites in the townships and other local landmarks. Start your journey at the Whittlesea Community Activity Centre and Library and circle around. This is an easy flat work with options to extend or return to the start.

The summer holidays are the perfect time to explore. Families can pick up a hard copy of the Whittlesea Discovery Trail map and receive an icy reward when they return. (valid 3-20 January 2023).

See our previous blog post  for a list of more suggested local walks with a local history theme, including the Little Eltham Heritage Walk, exploring the historical and culturally significant sites within easy reach of Main Road Eltham starting at Eltham Library.

The Walking Maps website is full of inspiring walks all around Victoria, so check out what is available for your holiday destination too.

Connect with where you live. Explore it by foot!
