Our communities have asked us for safe and free events that support them to recover, grow, and connect. We’ve responded by developing a Programming Framework that consists of 10 streams that align with the goals of our Library Plan and meet the needs of our communities.

These streams will also make it easier for members to find the types of events they are looking for, and for YPRL to ensure we are designing and hosting programs that are making a difference to our communities.

The foundation for learning to read and write. Early literacy skills can also help children in other areas, such as problem solving, creativity, memory, and maths.

Developing a lifelong connection with libraries. At YPRL, we recognise the importance of developing a love of reading and lifelong connection with libraries and community resources from an early age.

Growing Healthy Lives

Getting the most out of life. Our Growing Healthy Lives programs are designed to teach you how to get the most out of your garden, your local area and your life.

Learning Technology

Digital literacy for lifelong learning. YPRL offers learning and technology resources with activities to challenge and empower our members in the areas of science, technology, engineering and maths.

Local and Family History

Fostering a sense of belonging. Studying our past and telling our stories is critical to our sense of belonging, to our communities and to our shared future.

Life Skills

Build essential skills and learn something new. YPRL understands the need for people to feel connected, healthy, active and balanced.

Small Business Support

Build new skills or hone existing ones. YPRL offers a variety of programs and networking opportunities to strengthen and support local small businesses, both new and established.
